Work: The Drop

A series of 30 Monoprints exploring patterns and gestures created by printing fabric. The printing is repeated and juxtaposed in different nuanced visual formulations. They are visual meditations and experiments inspired by looking at light through curtains. By making multiple impressions and playing with over printing layers to create translucent and opaque areas, they mimick the net curtain’s role of partial concealment or revelation hanging in the liminal space between the public  and the private. The images suggest both solidity and fragility and patterns of flux and motion. All of these mono prints are printed on Fabriano Rosaspina 220gsm paper and are each  50 x 80cm
