Work: Photogravures

Prints developed using the polymer photogravure printmaking technique. These prints are an ongoing series developed from archival imagery of favourite, cherished  motifs. 

‘The Honeymooners’ appeared in the Leamingron Spa Open 2026 and the RBSA Portrait Prize Exhibition 2026. 

‘The Happy Couple’ and ‘Portrait of the Peerless Dulcinea of Toboso on a grain of wheat (enlarged)’ were created in response Cervante’s novel ‘Don Quixote’ for the exhibition ‘Tilting at windmills’. I am exploring fantasy and reality through the imagined figure of Dulcinea. 

‘The Happy Couple’ appeared in the Derby Print Open Exhibition 2026 and won the Intaglio Printmaker Prize Award: “We enjoyed the vintage theatrical aesthetic and deadpan, wry humour captured in Sharon’s winning piece ‘The Happy Couple’, alongside the considered tonal control in this photopolymer print”.
