Photogravures

New prints developed using the photogravure printmaking technique. Developed from my own archival imagery where I have revisited cherished and favourite motifs. There is an emphasis on portraiture based on real people or developed through inspiration from the novel ‘Don Quixote’ by Cervantes.

‘The Honeymooners’ is currently on show as part of the RBSA Portrait Prize Exhibition 2026. Some text from the show: “Portraits have been employed as a way of immortalising a person or group, and preserving their appearance for future generations…Portraits allow us the unique gift of being able to connect with individuals, both living and dead….More recently, portraits have been used to express more abstract themes, including the emotions or the state of the inner-self, without necessarily focusing on physical likeness.”
