I am delighted to announce that my pen and ink drawing ‘Folding 1’ has been selected for the West Midlands Open at the New Art Gallery Walsall, this Summer. This opportunity to celebrate the quality and diversity of the visual arts across the region will take place from 20 May – 25 September 2022 (Preview Thursday 19 May, 6 – 8pm). Works were accepted from West Midlands-based artists and selected by Skinder Hundal MBE, Director of Arts at the British Council, West Midlands-based artists Maryam Wahid and Nilupa Yasmin, as well as a panel of Gallery staff led by Director Stephen Snoddy. I’m looking forward to seeing my work exhibited with my friends and contemporaries in the region.

About Me

I am an artist based in Birmingham, UK.  My practice responds to my environment: the urban and natural landscape and how people affect, influence and change it: what they value and what they discard. I celebrate imagery that might be viewed as mundane and ubiquitous, exploring ideas around nostalgia, class and cultural heritage to question what people value in art and in life.
I produce work in series. My work over the years has contrasting styles depending on my subject matter and processes. Have a look at my gallery page to see!
My work has been shown in national print competitions, in shows across the UK and Europe and displayed in the House of Commons. In 2019 I won the Westmorland Landscape Prize and, at the Derby Print Open, the St Cuthbert’s Mill Paper Prize.
