Figurative Art Now goes live!

News of three exhibitions: The Qube Arts Open, Figurative Art Now & Wells Art Contemporary.

Its been an exciting few days…I’ve taken ‘Bay Window 2’ to the Qube in Oswestry to appear in the Qube Open Art Exhibition on the theme of ‘Shape and Colour’. The exhibition runs from 1st July until 27th August & will also be online www.qube-oca.org.uk.
I am also delighted that two of my ‘Bay Window’ series of prints have been chosen for the online exhibition ‘Figurative Art Now’ hosted by the Mall Galleries & the Federation of British artists. The exhibition will go live online on 7th July. www.mallgalleries.org.uk
And finally I have had a print selected for the Wells Art Contemporary and will be showing my print in the majestic Wells Cathedral this September!

Ikon for Artists Art Sale 17th-31st May 2021

I’m thrilled to be taking part in #ikonforartists where the Ikon gallery devotes its galleries and its first exhibition after lockdown to an exhibition of artworks for sale by over 250 Birmingham artists. 100% of the proceeds from artwork sales goes to the artist. I am showing a small framed mono print with image transfer: ‘Small Golden Shed 1′ celebrating my Grandparents’ back garden in a working class suburb of Birmingham complete with garden shed and Anderson Shelter.

Teeside Print Prize 2020 & Rugby Open 2020

My print ‘Large Rutter Bros I’ has been selected for the Teeside Print Prize exhibition for printmakers using Intaglio and Relief processes. The online catalogue of the exhibition is on the Teeside Print Prize Facebook page @teesideprintprize and the people of Middlesbrough can see the exhibition at 2B Hill Street Shopping Centre Middlesbrough from 20th Feb-May 2021

The Rugby Open
I have two prints: ‘Grandad’s Shed Golden’ & ‘Grandad’s shed Lilac’ at Rugby Art Gallery but sadly nobody has been able to see them in real life. You can visit the website at http://www.ragm.co.uk and download a digital catalogue featuring all the artworks on show and vote for the People’s Choice Award. The exhibition will be available online until mid April 2021.

The ING Discerning Eye 2020

I am thrilled to have ‘Packwood Fragment 28’ Selected for this exhibition. The show gives artists the opportunity to showcase their work in a unique virtual exhibition and I am proud to be included with some wonderfully talented British artists.

Covid-19 Update

Sadly all exhibitions I was involved in  now and in the near future have been cancelled. I am selling some of my recent work and selected artwork from my back catalogue via #artistsupportpledge on Instagram – I’m also posting on my Facebook artists page so maybe have a look if you have the time or the inclination.  Covid-19 has shut our world down for a time- take care everyone until we reach the other side.

Love Letters Exhibition at Gallery Top, Rowsley, Derbyshire 8th February-8th March 2020

I am excited to have six of my manhole cover prints included in this group show themed around the use of lettering, alphabets and text in printmaking curated by Bernie Rutter. It’s great to be exhibiting with other talented artists.
